The following is an account which attempts to show the malicious intent and content in the story published by the Sunday Leader News Editor Frederica Janz under the caption ‘Gota ordered them to be shot’ with behind the scene key roles played by Govt. parties interested in directing their venomous barbs against Gen. Fonseka……
It is very clear from the above Headline, given as a quotation, that Frederika Jansz, had attributed the above headline statement, to have been made by General Sarath Foseka, whereas it had not been the case, as disclosed by the text of her own report under such deadly headline.
“Later, I learnt that Basil had conveyed this information to the Defence Secretary Gothabaya Rajapakse – who in turn spoke with Brigadier Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army’s 58th Division, giving orders not to accommodate any LTTE leaders attempting surrender and that “they must all be killed” “
It is clear as day light, that she as Editor, had brazenly and deliberately given a deadly headline to intentionally cause damage and detriment to General Sarath Fonseka’s Election Campaign for Presidency against Mahinda Rajapakse, by boldly stating in a deadly headline that General Sarath Fonseka had made the statement – “Gota Ordered Them To Be Shot”, whereas it is categorically stated in the text of the said report - “Later, I learnt that …..”. Obviously, since General Sarath Fonseka had been overseas at the time of the alleged incident, he had been given information later by some journalists.
She had maliciously abused her Editor’s role by devilishly inserting a totally unfair and unwarranted deadly headline not borne out by the news report. The Publisher too (The man who robbed the CWE as its chairman) stands responsible for such devilish and despicable act.
In the subsequent clarification by General Sarath Fonseka published in The Sunday Leader on December 20, 2009 he had amplified thus – “Two days after the war ended I learned through some journalists …… “. Hence, her headline had been a deliberate ‘plant’ to cause damage and detriment to the Election Campaign of General Sarath Fonseka for Presidency to assist her cosy friend Mahinda Rajapakse.
The above is well and truly borne out by the full page advertisement, ‘exploiting’ her such headline, in the Sunday Lankadeepa of December 20, 2009, which was out on Saturday, December 19, 2009, and which would have been printed on or about Wednesday, December 16, 2009, just after her ‘collusive planted’ headline of December 13, 2009.
Such is well and truly borne out by her own Letter dated October 28, 2009 addressed to Mahinda Rajapakse published in The Sunday Leader on November 1, 2009, wherein she, her self, had stated thus:
“When I met with you two months ago you were kind enough to offer me every assistance in my work asking me to telephone you if and whenever I believed I required your intervention in any matters ……… ”.
“When I met with you we had a very cordial and frank discussion where you spent an hour with me discussing the future of The Sunday Leader, my functions as its new Editor and even reminisced about the late Lasantha Wickrematunge. On that occasion, you agreed that the newspaper had taken a very definite and clear shift in terms of editorial policy and that The Sunday Leader was no longer perceived to be biased or partial on any front …...”
“Despite your assurances to me at the time we met, I have since been defamed on a government website namely, the Media Centre for National Security which in September carried a scurrilous article against me which attributed certain statements I had made in an interview to al Jazeera that were simply not true and taken out of context”.
What are the assurances that Mahinda Rajapakse gave her at the very cordial and frank discussion for over an hour ? The public have a right to know, just like she published, as a headline story, what General Sarath Fonseka is alleged to have told her.
I do agree with the above. MR has deceived the country. People must think twice when they are voting. SF is inexperienced to politics. That's obvious. But see Laxman Kadiragamar who was ex-foreign minister had no experience when he is coming to political arena. But he managed to serve the country than others did. If SF contested from SLAF, then there won't be such allegations. See Shashendra Rajapaksha, Anarkali Akarsha. They are not aware of administration either. When Sirimavo Bandaranayake came to power she didn't have any kind of experience. Therefore, this logic is unacceptable. The salient feature should be free from corruption.
All the above comments show how MR has deceived the world. Everyone sees him from the appearance and the speech he makes. But, as intelligent youth we need to be vigilant how he make public fools and how he is going to secure his and his family power (Rajapaksha Company) and their henchman.
All the salient ministries are with this brother company. Defense, Finance, Roads development, Harbor and Aviation affairs. Just think who are the responsible persons within each department. All brothers are there. All these ministries are treasuries to skim the public money. That's why they are into so many road development projects and harbor developments. Thereby they can gain more commission to their pockets. During the war, all ammunition were purchased by Lanka Logistics Company. Gotabhaya was chairman and all the knowledgeable persons know, how they stole public money in the backdrop of war. Only 4 years down, if he wins 8 more years to go. Dear people. Just think. If we give him a priviledge again, this country may get improved. But around 50% of public money will be vested in with this sahodara samagama. Don't allow them to skim our country. I won't tell to give your valuable vote to SF. But, all the forces who are able to develop this country will be with SF. That's for sure. Use your vote with the thinking I mentioned. Thank you.

In year 1983 i was studing for my A/L s I heard the noice of crackers that was black july since 1983 up to 18 May 2009 we had a very bad time actualy we had to suffer a lot during our young age realy we couldn't anjoy our young life
so in my point of view president Mahinda did the job for the country and he realy gave us a big releaf not for us realy to next genaration we should thank him we find mistakes every where because we all are human beings it doesn't matter this is a thanking vote

I am a very proud Sri Lankan who live out of the country at the moment. I have voted for Ranil Wickramasinghe in the past and realized how foolish I have been. I have been living 30 years out of 35 years of my live in fear and dark memories of bombs, killing masscares and even first hand experiense in so called border village as a teacher. I personally how it feels like to be in fear and live in jungles without food and water. I sucks.
Now here we have a new situation, a new country, new life for all. This is not the time for any fool to talk about crap. Money may be important, but life is more important than money. Remeber MR has given all of us a new life. He has stood before the international community to protect our country. He fought with them, he argued with them on behalf of us. That's a true leader who we can trust will nevr betray it's people for short term fantacies.
He is very much a human being at heart. He is humble, he is simple, he is courages, he is dedicated, he is compassionate, he is firm at the same time, he knows what his people wants. There shouldn't be any idiot standing against him. Becasue whoever goes against him will destroy his reputation.
He is our president, he is people's president. He is being called as a king, not becasue of anyhting becasue he earned it and he deserved it.
Don't you dare to challange him SF. A psycho path can't be a president or lead the country. 40 years of experience in battle field will haunt you all your life. SF will be thurst for blood. * Most of all, there are no bombs blasting

30 years of my life i have seen only the war....i have so much of gratitude for His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksha for ending this war.....We had many best of the best officers in the Army , most of them died in the war.....
it was because of the leadership of our president the three forces were able to end this bloddy war...
