Clearly, those who run this blog don't have their arms around the Gospel. I can't help but think that members who support a party that is profoundly in opposition to Gospel principles fully grasp it either. Seems to me that when standing before the judgment bar & asked what you did to help mankind, promote Gospel principles & oppose the forces of evil, those who support such a party will be at a loss. Study our great Prophet Ezra Taft Benson & you'll understand better this reasoning.
Reed Cowan has 52% of the vote in an online poll for Mormon of the Year! His closest contender is former Gov. Huntsman with 14%. Unfortunately, the disclaimer that the winner of the online poll is not neccessarily Mormon of the Year will probably disqualify you if the decision is made by Mormons.

Although each of rameumtpton'S choiCeS'S impact'S a bit US-Centric, I agree with its being a toss-up.......I say "Beck," who just climbed onto onto his dizzyingly high media platform this year, something a designation of "Of the Year" might tend to encapsulate.
Definitely a toss up between Harry Reid and Glenn Beck. Reid has actually pushed health care forward, whether for good or bad, as well as the stimulus package at the beginning of the year.
Glenn Beck shook Washington DC with getting Van Jones ousted from his government position, and helped move forward the Tea Party group.
