Are Mormons Monists?

I thought monism had something to do with the way things are done. Like, for example, "There is only one right way to do something." Or, "There is more than one way to skin a cat, but there is only one right way to skin a cat." Like all organization and procedure comes from one source. Harold Bloom in his book The American Religion says, "the Mormons became furious monists and perhaps the most work-addicted culture in religious history." So how does that fit in?
