If you had to live in one of these Dekker worlds for a year, which would you choose?

The women warriors in The Circle are awesome. I would love to be like one of them. And it's OK if they spit!

haha wow. This was definitly a hard choice, but middle forest would be the best for me, though its a hard life, i agree that fighting with a sword, enjoying healing fruit and red pools would be amazizing! Yes, i said AMAZIZING!

How about the forest from Black before the whole drinking of the bad water ordeal. I would like that about 10x better than all of the options combined.

    Summerville, Nevada all the way.

I love how unpredictable that book is. The town is small (like mine), and I've never been in a desert before, so I'd like that. Plus, my Timothy is there with his bizzarre mustard obsession I love so much. Can't be missing out on that, can I? Haha. =]

A lot of people chose the Middle Forest, but i chose Paradise. I would choose Paradise over the Middle Forest because, although what happened in the book was Chaotic yet a great ending, I wouldn't mind living in a small town like that, plus i love the mountains. So if i was walking and found a secret monastery that held books that made words flesh... lets just say I'd have some fun. I'm quite the prankster. Haha, But if i was there while Marsuvees Black was there... I think i would have contributed to helping Johnny and Samuel. While reading the book I would be thinking to myself, "What if I was in Johnny's position? What would I do?" It makes the book more interesting to read I believe. Don't get me wrong though, The Middle Forest would deffinately be my second choice.

Wow, not much love for the horde. GO MIDDLE FOREST!

  • Rick - 16 years ago

In a way , we already live in all of these worlds.

  • angie - 16 years ago

Oh to be in the forest, to reap the benefits of it's healing fruit, to join my brother and sisters in celebration full of passion and strength! My heart would hurt for the Horde, so I would end up being an outcast myself at times. I would say that I'd not deal any deadly blows to the Horde in battle in hopes they would chose the red pools someday, but we all know what the Horde do to their wounded. Tuff choices in that world just like here eh?

honestly this was one of the most difficult choices i've ever made...
Middle would be AWESOME all around but Paradise could be extremely fun as well...i chose Middle only because i'd finally be able to use a sword in battle...

I agree with Kristin; while Middle Forest would be beautiful and different than anything I've ever experienced, it would take quite a bit of getting used to since it doesn't have modern technology (which I like quite a bit).
I also agree with Maddie and others that living in the desert with the Hore would be no fun at all, to say the least.
As for Summerville, it's kind of creepy, since I wouldn't know what's real and what isn't...
Because of all that I'd probably choose Paradise because it wouldn't be too much of a change from ; however, like Sam Franklin, I'd have to know when (in relation to the events described in the books) I'd be in when in Paradise. For that matter, in what time frame would I be in any of these places? The question of "when?" could quite possibly change my answer...

Summerville all the way......LOVE that book, you never know what is going to happen

  • Sam Franklin - 16 years ago

That's a difficult choice for me. Is it pre or post 'Showdown' Paradise? Actually in the town of Paradise or in the monastary above it? I would love to be in on Project Showdown for a year, more so than I would spending a year with The Circle, but then again, if I had to suffer through the events of 'Showdown', I don't think I'd be as eager to visit Paradise. And as much as I enjoy reading about Summerville, that's one place I'd never want to be.

the question is easy to the site of humans we think of the way that it is the normal a place to go for fun but the way i see it i go their to see that place and be able to see all of it from the Middle forest

  • Jared - 16 years ago

I love your books! I haven't read black through white or showdown through sinner yet, and I don't know what summerville is, but I do know that I don't want to live in Paradise, CO, or in the desert as a horde. I'm fine with Middle Forest.

  • Katie - 16 years ago

I love your books!! but i think my favoret would be Black, Red, and White and seriosly if i could live in the books i would its soo good

  • Kristin - 16 years ago

lol The people have spoken. I agree with all that the others would be interesting, and it may be true that because of our technology we may not be completely comfortable in Middle Forest; but it wold be an uncommonly beautiful place. Mr. Dekker I'm incredibly excited to meet you at the Dallas Gathering.

It seems to me that we all like the middle forest b/c the middle ages have been so romantisised in recent times. I think real life in the middle forest might be a little uncomfortable for those of us used to earth 2010. :)

  • Kayla - 16 years ago

Middle forest as part of the circle would be awesome! To actually be able to see Justin. That would be cool. Or Paradise that would be interesting living in a town like paradise it would be fun!

  • Trevor - 16 years ago

Yes, This is an easy one. =P

  • Maddie - 16 years ago

This is kind of a no-brainer for me! I would much rather live in the Middle Forest than with the Horde or in a bizarre and unpredictable town like Summerville. Although Paradise sounds like it could be an interesting option, I don't think it would be my first choice.

Love your books! Can't wait to pick up Burn... :)
