Would you be interested in there being an Anime Detour sponsored Dance Night (similar to the one at Detour) that will take place sometime this summer?

Depends on the weekened. As long as it's not AnimeIowa or QC Anime-zing! weekend :3

I'm definitely interested, I just need the location and the date! It can't be too far, though.

it could be held at a church on an evening. they usually have youth group rooms.
no alcohol, all ages event, free entry or small $5 charge donation to the church
and... you could sell glowsticks and pop and snacks as a fund raiser for the church. non profit. donations accepted.
i know a place in S st paul, called the NET center, its a big open indoor gym with a stage and band area set up. sound booth in the back that operates the overhead projector screens. speakers.
they have bathrooms, and the hallway entrance has tables for selling merchandise (like glowsticks and snacks and pop).
    talk to Joe at http://netusa.org/contact/
lifeline is the name of the MASS i attend, mostly catholic, but it wont matter if you want to host an anime dance night. i'm sure they could really use the donations from selling glowsticks. and hosting a dance night.

i'm 21 so if its 16+ make sure the cut off is not at 20! thanks! an all ages event, adults allowed! no alcohol.
cover charge free or under $5.
Location has to be in st paul, mn area, or east side. (I cant go to mpls)
mix up the music, pop, techno, euro trance, rock, r&b, ddr, anime stuff, some funky stuff. everything! remixes are fun. song request list is a great idea for guest to participate in music selection. all music is digital now and easily downloaded in 1 minute or less.

I love the DANCE the anime detour provides. more techno DDR type music desired. glowsticks are awesome! if there is another dance like it, (a rave) i would attend in a heartbeat. Name the place! and everyone has to dress up for it, alright!?

If its more rave/club themed and 18+ I might think about it. Weekend a plus. music played at Detour(4 years in a row) sucks, so if it's good music and not crap I might go. is there a cover charge? no more than 5 bucks depending on rent of place or whatnot, also weigh on my decision...not a huge anime fan here, so would suck to only hear anime music.

i would like to go as long as it's not 18 plus i think i would beable to attend

  • Todd - 16 years ago

would love 2 go if i didnt live 4 hours away from the cities

  • Serena - 16 years ago

I would love to go to a post Detour Dance!

Weekends are best for me, 9-5 working drone that I am. =)

I think its a fantabulous idea. ^_^ It will give people something to look forward to in the summer. Not to mention a nice selection of music.

I think it would be cool, depending on the people who go and, of course, the timing. A chance to get together with your Detour friends again, you know? :]

I went to the con for the first time last year and was only at the Saturday night dance but I loved the music! I'm not sure why others are complaining but I was really impressed with the range of songs and had no problem dancing my a** off! Personally I would be very dissapointed if the music changed. Last year they played everything from the Rocky Horror Picture show to Rammstien to the Numa Numa song where everyone present started singing and dancing along. I feel that if the tone and quality of the music changed I would be less likely to attend the A.D. because I have been looking forward to a repeat all year XD

I would love to see a post-detour dance.

I would also love to be able to DJ. I have most of the equipment and would do it for free.

I have hours upon hours of Anime Trance mixis and a lot of popular dance music as well.

    :D

I think that it should be the weekend after AD. Everybody will have Con-Hangover, and people will be missing their new friends, so this way we can have something to look forward to after Detour! ^__^

  • Kajisan - 16 years ago

I would love this! My friends and I are always going through withdrawal after Detour is over because we have to wait a whole year to go all out crazy again. Plus it would be easier for everyone to come because it's in the summer when people don't have school.

  • ConGoer - 16 years ago

This would be cool. It would be a great opportunity for con-goers who haven't met previously, to meet and have a great time with people of common interest. In my opinion, a great idea!

  • Raver - 16 years ago

Talk to one of the Electronic Music production companies in the Cities. Uncensored US and BakPak Productions throw some pretty badass raves!!!

  • dH_ - 16 years ago

I'd be open to providing some music as well if you're looking for DJs within the community =]

  • Asuma - 16 years ago

If it is on the weekend, I'm in for it of course. Why not?

  • DavidE - 16 years ago

I would deff go depending on the date.
Also i agree with dH lets get some sweet beats playing all night at this anime party.
    Where are my ravers?!

  • dH_ - 16 years ago

Would be an excellent idea as long as the music is more dance-able than what is typically played at AD.

  • Chelsea - 16 years ago

Just as long as it doesn't occur during Anime Iowa or CONvergence considering most of the people that attend Detour also attend those cons :3

  • Wombat-socho - 16 years ago

It's irrelevant to me because I'm only in the area during AD, but I think it's a good idea.
