Should GNOME re-implement the option to show icons in menus?

    I like Sam's comment above. It should be either a stand-alone app or another section in some preferences. I would actually appreciate the option to re-enable the icons, to disable all of the menu's icons, or to enable all. Maybe that's neither here nor there, but it seems like the code already exists. To me, it looks odd to have a menu where ALMOST all items have icons, but some appear to be missing arbitrarily (I know it's not arbitrary, but it detracts from uniformity/cohesiveness of the design)

    Alternative solution: Have whoever deleted the "Interface" tab retrieve the code and produce a small stand-alone app to perform the missing tab's functions. It should be both quick and easy for him.
