For more than fifty-two years my wife and I have been conserving energy because it was the decent and economically wise thing to do.
Therefore we will be living in our usual way during earth hour. It seems that suddenly it is "cool" to be environmentally concious so I guess we will remain "uncool".

I plan to turn all the lights on in the house for this hour and take a hot shower.

Earth Hour is a stupid 'feel good' idea. It does nothing to educate people or to reduce problems.

    Bah humbug.

Electricty, one of the great humen invention, now becomes evil. Similar things including flush toilet, toilet paper and coffee machine. When things become as weired as this, any one ever think of this, is there something fundamentally wrong? I say yes, and the fundamental problem is human overpopulation. Cut human population by half we shall not have these problems at all. Don't use 'high-tech' squeeze more people on early. Control it.

Those who oppose WWF activism (and non-elective leadership), please notice that the objective measure of success for Earth Hour, is to lower electrical usage by 5%, mainly by turning out lighting.

If you oppose WWF, disagree with climate-activism, etc, then you should time the evening cycle of energy loads on Saturday to coincide with Earth Hour. Draw your bath-water, use the oven and the dishwasher, during the demonstration-hour.

Each person who chooses to use energy during the 'lights-off' time, can make a strong impact on the measured energy usage. Turn it on! - but don't blow the breaker. ;)
