Many of the people hospitalized after an ATV-related accident are drivers under the age of 14. What do you think?

Banning the use of ATV’s for anyone under 16 won't solve the problem. Instead, proper instruction and appropriate classes should be available to everyone (including those under 16). Lets face it, whether they're banned or not, people under the age of 16 will continue to ride them, so why not provide adequate training?

ATV's (and snowmobiles) need to be treated like any other motorized vehicle. They must be licensed and you should need to have a special vehicle licence (like motorcycles) to operate them anywhere (other than on your private property). It should be law, not just suggested practice, that they must yield to all non-motorized traffic (pedestrians, horse riders, bicyclists, etc.). There should be mandatory speed limits and they should only be sold with speed limiters (30 km/hr) except for sanctioned events. Oh, and if they are used to damage designated wetlands or other designated areas they should be confiscated just as they are if they are used in poaching.
