Whatever you think or don't think about Ms Hilton and her friend, the treatment they have received (firing/banning) seems draconian. Afterall, have they already been found guilty based on their arrest? Why bother with process, then? If she was allegedly carrying less than 1 gram of cocaine, in certain countries this would not even be an offense. In the majority of others where it is an offense, in several of those countries she would not be prosecuted as a first-time offender. Would her friend have been fired if alcohol rather than marijuana were the catalyst?
