Should A Drug Addict Be Sent To Jail Or Be Offered Treatment?

Jail is a waste of time for a drug addict unless the jail provides drug counselling and support.

I believe a drug addict should be sent to a harm reduction center. Drug addicts only hurt themselves and not society.

Punishing a drug addict isn't going to help the addict. An addict will most likely relapse intense psychotherapy with counselling is the answer.

If a drug addict is not only hurting himself or herself the individual also hurts society due to taxpayers dollars paying in the end.

I am uncertain if a drug addict should be sent to jail.
