No a black gay & lesbian star has a lot to lose coming out. Homophobia is a serious social taboo in black culture.
Yes black gay & lesbian stars can make social change. The discourse is homosexuality is still a part of white culture but is invisible in communities of colour.
I am uncertain if black gay & lesbian stars should come out of the closet.
I don't think a black gay & lesbian star should come out it won't make a difference.
Only A list black gay & lesbian stars should come out. Nobody cares about Wanda Sykes or Rupaul. For social change an A list black gay star can make change.
