i am a nurse and i work with drs. who close PFO's percutaneously. it is a very safe and non-invasive procedure now! he will do well!! complications occur in less than 1 in 400 pts. never have seen it in my practice!
I was diagnosed with and had my PFO repaired last year. We need to make others (as well as physicians)aware of this "hole in the heart" that can cause stroke and severe migraines. Clinical trials are now ongoing to see how much of a correlation there is between the three.
