@ fakimg accents: I think it's just a reflex reaction what is happening now. With a lot of expat coming in to the country, it's almost to say "we're on par". Yòu can't outshine me in my own country kinda thing. And I read that that's wot some employers/clients wan to hear now. So, can't blame 'em can you? But, on real terms, such attempts should be well polished/refined for the sake of the hearerts as you pointed out, at least.
