I got on the Gold Line about 7:30 a.m. Some people standing, but plenty of room. Everything went smoothly.
I would like to suggest that a conspicuous sign be posted at the Gold Line station at Union Station, such as: "To board: If you have a loaded TAP card, tap it on the readers (show picture) and go upstairs. If you are purchasing a one-time (paper) ticket, you do not need to tap it or validate it for a train journey. Just keep it available for inspection until your trip is completed." This process is not obvious and probably slows down the vending machine use, which is not desirable during peak times like this. It should also be in simple English that visitors can easily understand
