I have contemplated suicide many times, especially after the death of John, my first husband, and when I was raped. I actually know several people that have committed suicide for medical reasons. I have always been suicidal because I didn't like who I was. My self-esteem has always been very low. My life is so much better now that I have found purpose in my life but do think about suicide every now and then.
I wouldn't wish the level of gloom and despair that gives rise to thoughts of suicide on anyone.
