What flooring material should we put in the main hall, assuming price is no hinderance?

More of that shiny creamy stone like in the hall! It has nice light color, transfers underfloor heat well, and easy to maintain in the kitchen.

Industrieparkett wood flooring! A rich warm brown will warm up the room visually, it can be thinner than stone, and it's much nicer to stand on when working in the kitchen.

I've got an even better idea which I'll explain in the comments.
