Butler was in the title game last year. The biggest upset was NC State over Phi Slama Jama. I doubt half the people on this poll were alive then. You had to be alive to really get the impact of what happened. It was the biggest upset ever in a title game.

A Butler victory would barely be an upset at all; Vegas has them at only a three and a half point underdog.

Butler beating UConn an upset? Gimme a break. Both teams lost nine games and had to turn on the jets late in the season. Agree with antiochcat -- 'Nova over G'town was the biggest upset to date, hands down. BTW, 'Nova shot a ridiculous 79% from the field; missed only ONE basket in the second half.

Too many respondents either have no memory or are under 35. I wouldn't even consider a Butler win an upset, as they were finalists last year, and UConn didn't even qualify (plus it has mostly Frosh players, unlike Butler).
When Texas Western, with 5 Black starters, beat all-white Kentucky in 1966, it shook the basketball world. True, Villanova & NC State had notable upsets, but they were major conference teams. Not so Western (now UTEP).
I call this year's final a toss-up.

Butler looked better in their semifinal game than UConn. UConn doesn't look to me to be a 3 point favorite. James

There is no way Butler beating UCONN tonight would be the biggest upset. Butler was here last year. If they won last year, maybe that would would've been up there as the biggest upset, but not this year. Many people realize the talent at Butler is a result of their recruiting classes sticking around for four years and working hard and that work paying off. This would not be that big big of an upset.
PS: GO HUSKIES!!!

Butler WILL win. Butler plays as a team. The Huskies depend on a one trick pony and a cast of "also played" players.
The hoopla about past U-Conn championships on the players tonight, have no bearing on the game. NONE played on those teams.

Butler makes it to the title game two years in a row and people are thinking that if Butler wins it will be an upset?? GET REAL - UConn is not a powerhouse and if UConn wins it will be an upset!!! Quit giving the "elite" teams all the press. Most of the 1, 2, and 3 seeds sucked in this year's tournament!!

Really? Its like a 3 point spread and Butler was in the Final Four last year. This is lazy journalism at its finest. I mean, Uconn was like a 9 point underdog to Duke in 1999....that was a bigger upset

First of all, to Shoegirl: Michigan State's win over Indiana State was hardly an "upset". Not only that, but if I'm not mistaken, Larry Bird played that game with a broken thumb which virtually insured that Magic Johnson (ever heard of him?) and his team mates would win that game.
Secondly: If Butler beats U-Conn tonite, it's not that much of an upset. Butler has a hell of a team, and (in case your memory is short) guess who was in this very same game a year ago.... Watching Brad Stevens coach against wiley old Jim Calhoun will be an interesting sub-plot to this game....

Shoegirl: Good call. and let's not forget that's also the game that put March Madness on the map. I believe it still ranks as the most watched college basketball game. However, the Magic/Bird showdown was pretty much a pick 'em I believe, so it shouldn't really count as an upset. I'm still sticking with the 'Nova win. NO TEAM shoots, what? 75% from the field? That was unreal.

It was the Michigan State vs Indiana State March 1979 Indiana lost their only game of the season to Michigan State
