Mark McGuire has over 75% so put him in The Hall Fame , the fans have spoke !
The poll shows the people want mark McGuire in the hall of fame
Lets all remember that when baseball needed saving we was all proud of Mark McGwire and what he did for baseball now all you so called fans have turned on him shame on you.
Let's remember Pete Rose was a DICK in the all star game where he ko the catcher
Let's remember Pete Rose was a DICK in the all star game where he ok the catcher
If you are going to let Pete Rose then you have open up a whole can of worms on what is ok to do in baseball . NO WAY SHOULD YOU LET HIM IN !
If you are going to let Pete Rose who never proved he bet on his team to lose, You have to let Shoeless Joe Jackson in first , Because in the games he took money to lose he avg. was 400 and no errors .
This is an easy choice. Rose never cheated the game by taking performance enhancing drugs. I know there are rumors that he used a corked bat, but that truly isn't the same thing. Rose's sin was betting on his team, which he did when he was managing at the end of his career. Manny and McGuire have no career without PEDs. In fact, McGuire's only HOF worthy stat are his home run and RBI totals and the RBIs are impacted greatly by his HR total. Take out the HRs, and he is a .263 hitter who strikes out a lot and plays terrible defense.
Manny's case is better, as he had a much higher batting average, but he won't ever get in because of the PED issue.
As much as it pains me to say it (given that I am a Dodgers fan), the only one of the PED era guys who deserves to get in is Bonds. Take away the HRs and he hits for a high average, still drives in a lot of runs, steals bases, takes walks, and in his prime, played gold glove defense.
Pete Rose should be in the HOF. The others should not.
As a lifetime Dodgers fan, I hate Rose. But he got those hits cleanly, without steroids.
Before detractors say, "Yeah, but he bet on baseball".....Ask YOURSELF this: How did YOU do in your office March Madness or Super Bowl pool? Should YOU be fired because you bet on the game?
Rose, BTW, never bet on his team to lose. Was sent to prison for failing to pay taxes on his profit!
Picking one of these three for the hall of fame would be like trying to choose your favorite member of al Quaeda.
Role model for kids? Ball players haven't been role models for kids since the 60's. When the first player signed a million dollar contract, the game, and the players went downhill. It's all about the money now. They've corrupted the game and it doesn't matter what shape of ball they're playing with. They're all a bunch of greedy, drugged up clowns. No one plays for the love of the game anymore.
Pete Rose was and remains a liar, and he continues to blame virtually everyone else for where he is.
MLB claims to concerned about players being a role model to kids, and boasts of its work in that area. I sure don't want MY kids being taught that, if you play enough games and have enough talent, you can not only violate the rules, cheat, lie and still accomplish the greatest honors in your field, you can do all that AND whine about your troubles being the fault of everyone else, and grumble about those who you say didn't get caught.
Pete Rose certainly deserves being remembered, but he DOESN'T deserve baseball's highest honor.
Not much of a choice when it comes to ethics and integrity with these three. Cheaters and gamblers should not be role models for kids.
