Remember, Sutterfield wasn't found "Not Guilty" on the abuse charge . . . that is still up in the air. He was found not guilty on the "Falsifying of Reports" and "Ordering a Report to be Falsified." Whether he is retried on the abuse charge is still to come.

Mr. Sutterfield, by the presentation of his own taped evidence, lied about Kenford Carter's instructions about contact with Mr. Dorn by Officer Williams, he lost his ALETA certification for" dishonesty and ethics violations", admitted to overusing prescription drugs, didn't file a supplemental police report as required by standard police procedure to correct the omissions of tazing and "tapping" with the shotgun from Officer Chatman's report, and lied under oath about the outcome of his two previous Workman Compensation cases, which rulings can be obtained by a simple Google search. Flippin PD and the Marion County Sheriff won't respond to BSPD calls? Is it a coincidence that the implementation of that procedure was about the time Sutterfield was named Police Chief? I think NOT. Lets not forget, he was not found innocent of the charge of excessive force. The federal and civil rights prosecutors can choose to retry him on that count and I sincerely hope they will.
Sutterfield has compromised the reputation and integrity of the BSPD and sullied the good name of our wonderful city. He deserves to loose his certification so he cannot subject any other unsuspecting community to his brand of policing based on the revelations of the trial of his history of dishonesty and ethics violations and accepted police procedure alone. Found Not Guilty on the conspiracy and falsification charges does not change the facts of those revelations.

Many people who don't have any contact (good or bad) with law enforcement officers often believe that abuse of police power only happens to the other guy. Not only that, they justify that the victim of police brutality somehow deserved it. I've seen this same thing happen with battered women. People ask "what did SHE do?". Blaming a victim is wrong, no matter what the victim's personal life is. We are supposed to be community based on laws, rules and humanity. Too many people break all three and justify their bad behaviors with lame excuses.

Some where in Boone county is at least 1 juror who thinks it's ok for police to kick in a door where you do not live to arrest you on a misdemeanor charge with no warrant. #mericamarioncountyarkansas

Dan is a truly nice guy... It was mishandled sure. There is more to this story I'm sure. His family needs to move on .. It's not just Dan this effects. Was there excessive force?? Mabye. But I believe in public hangings should still be legal so.........
