I love K.P.'s attitude - survivor! I also survived spousal abuse. Like K.P. I still have nightmares once in a while. It take a long, long time to heal from the mental and emotional scars, but they do fade with time and the right support.
I am a SURVIVOR of domestic violence--no longer a victim. Never thought it would happen to me, but my life could've been one of those "Movie of the Week". Escaping the situation was the scariest thing I ever did--I was sure he'd hunt me down and kill me! That was 14 years ago and I still have occasional nightmares. But, leaving was the beginning of a much better life for me. I have a loving, supportive husband and I can honestly state: "Life is good!".
