I agree with Ray's comment and would add: 'how does she know her mother is arguing with a man until she hears the man's voice or sees him?'
However, I voted not to turning the page for a different reason. I understand the beginning in the middle of a conflict that raises story questions idea, but this story doesn't tell me enough (yes on page 1) to care about the character who wakes up to a fight. I'm not a fan of a book starting mid-argument unless the argument is tongue-in-cheek entertaining or compelling to the main character. Other people arguing over something seemingly meaningless to the POV character doesn't do it for me.
