Is there any truth that Lewis under the influence at the time he made the comment ?

Give Fred his due he's signed the checks for the talent and was duped successfully by Scott Boras . Unfortunately he hasn't had the temerity to admit that he was wrong in any of this mess to begin with ! So to my mind it's quid pro quo !
