What's your take on Jim Riggleman Resigning as Manager of the Nationals?

Bottom line...Riggleman shouldn't have left in the middle of the season! What if Ryan Zimmerman quit in the middle of the season because of a contract dispute? The media would tear him a new one!

Not giving Riggleman a long term contract does put him in a bad situation with his players on the field and in the locker room, but if he'd continue his winning ways through the All-Star break he's looking at a multi million dollar and several year contract on an up and coming Nationals team with eyes on the future; a future he helped build and now its gone with one gesture! In my opinion, flipping his finger at Rizzo today will look like a huge mistake come July 4th or maybe the rest of his life. I think he was just weeks away from a big payoff, long term dream job in his hometown. Too bad. He is....was a good baseball guy too!

I have never had a boss not willing to talk to me about anything in the workplace. Why would Rizzo refuse to talk to him??? I think Riggs was right in leaving... If I were treated like that in my workplace, I would not stay (or I would stay and look elsewhere...).
