love to read canadian (and Manitoba) authors... my favourite, Mirium Toews isn't on the list. but I like Joan sweatman too. Love this idea of a great contest.
I love a good mystery novel and this one seems to be right up my alley!
I've not read any of these books, but they will definitely make my reading list! Looking forward to it. :)
Gabriel Roy is a unique voice in Manitoba literature. She writes with a great deal of sensitivity and is able to portray the lives of her characters with insight and empathy. Roy's writing brings alive a time in Manitoba that was difficult but inspiring-- the depression years of the 1930's.
