I believe stem cell research would be a good thing, but cures and treatments derived from it should only be given to progressive people. Let the faith based right wing nuts pray for their salvation when they get a disease. That will give Darwin's natural selection theory a little boost.

Embryonic stem cells have not shown any benefit in research using them. Adult stem cells, however, have had some measure of success. Why continue to research something that has demonstrated no known benefits just because it is a politically hot issue, which puts politics over science? Focus on that which has shown promise!
