All coaches should ref. All refs should coach. I've done both. Then each would appreciate what both jobs encompass! Mainly - unhappy parents!
People think it is so easy to officiate. It is funny how they can see the fouls from anywhere in the gym. If it is so easy, then they should go out, take the officials classes, pass a state rules exam, buy a uniform and start working games.
It's a thankless job and they take a lot of heat from all different directions.
