What scientific discovery or technology will destroy the world?
Nanotechnology. All of our atoms will be converted into a giant puddle of self-replicating gray goo.
Biotechnology. They say they are creating "safe" viruses to deliver gene therapies, but I know they will infect and kill us all.
Genetic Engineering. What will happen when those human brain cells change rats into superintelligent villains? Plus, have you ever been bitten by a glowing green bunny? They are vicious. Also: Zombies
Physics. I'm just waiting for the day when the Large Hadron Collider eats the universe.
Robotics. There's a good reason that science fiction writers have been predicting the robot uprising for at least a century.
Mobile phones. Two words: Brain cancer.
Google. OK, so Google is a company and not a technology. But clearly it is going to destroy the world.
Plant bioengineering. When every single crop is spun from the same genomes, doesn't that mean that every plant is vulnerable to the same diseases? Just saying.
Nuclear engineering. I think we all know why this is scary.
The Space Program. Did we need to send all those messages out into space to tell the aliens how weak and dumb we are?
Brain-Computer Interfaces. It's all well and good when you use it to control a bionic arm with your mind. But what about when it controls you?
Oil Mining and Refinement Technologies. Fossil fuels will be our doom.
Environmental Science. Sure, they say they just want to understand how climate change works. But they really just want to destroy the economy and take my car away.
