Sheldon Silver, a high level democrat gets arrested for corruption, but his fellow democrats insist that he shouldn't resign from public office because he is innocent until proven guilty. Kelsey, a relatively unknown republican gets arrested, and his fellow republicans, as well as many democrats, demand his immediate resignation notwithstanding the presumption of innocence.

Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty?" I mean, I'm no fan of Silver but just because he was accused by the same federal agency that is often criticized by the public (i.e., us), we need not rush him to resign. Seems a bit hypocritical of us.
