While our congregation (UUS:East, Manchester, CT) cannot afford a second mnister, we budgeted this year for a part-time Youth Coordinator and also put $2000 in a line item for Adult RE. These are growth initiatives that we hope will strengthen our programs. We have a part-time DRE, RE Assistant, and full-time sexton and office administrator. They are all paid within the range the the UUA recommends for a church our size. We use fund-raisers to augment our pledge income. We have a small, but growing, endowment fund that we do not touch. We recently completed a significant (and very green) expansion of our building.
