Where Should The Social Media Budget Come From?

    Great question Andrew,

    It's something I've been asking myself also as my workplace deals with social media across HR, PR & Communications, Sales and Digital Departments. These work across not only consumer, by B2B activity.

    Given the fact that som many departments work together on, and are impacted by social media, I believe a combined budget from the various departments would be ideal - but whether this will happen remains to be seen.

    What do you think? Do you know any organizations that effectively combine and cross-manage budgets across departments?

    Seems that contributions from across the organization to make up the social budget is the popular choice...

    I believe that teamwork is the key to reducing 'internal competition' that could become a significant barrier along the path to success.
