In the last federal election the Harper Conservatives got 40% of the popular vote which gave them a majority. The poll of western Canadian farmers on the single desk aspect of the Canadian Wheat Board was over 60% favouring keeping the Wheat Board as is. In a democracy you do not ignor the wishes of the majority but implement what they wish. We may be witnessing the start of the demise of the Conservative Party support in western Canada.
