Congrats to LSU for making the BCS title game they earned it, (Bama, still wondering how) OH YEAH! ESPN/SEC BIAS!!!!!!! Anyways, each conference goes through its cycles, in the 90's it was the Big Ten and now its the SEC. So for all the SEC fans enjoy it while it lasts, because your cycle is about to run out (PAC 12 ON THE RISE). Especially with USC completing its 2 year bowl game band ITS USC and then everyone else. When an SEC is willing to "play anyone, anywhere, anytime" like USC then you will get my vote. If the SEC is so strong, I would like Bama to play at USC (but they wont). Until then, keep scheduling Kent St at home (Bama) and avoid play non-confenrence teams away from home you will still all be an OVERATED, BCS BIAS confenrence.

I am so freaking tired of people talking trash about Bama. We are ranked #2 and LSwho is ranked #1 so It is pretty fair to let Bama play LSwho again.

There is way too much whining about this great rematch. The Tide and Tigers are without doubt the two best teams in CF. All the fuss about winning the conference is absurd. The only reason the Tide could not win the conference is because only one team can, and that was LSU by virtue of the narrowest of margins in the GameoftheCentury Part 1. Bama played them a great game and beat them in every stat until an "uncharacteristic of the game" overtime set of downs. More a case of poor coaching decisions and less than typical execution. One typical field goal in, and there would be no overtime. Bad breaks, but a great game played by Bama. Tide wins 6 of 10 against LSU, and dominates any other Conference Champ in the Land. Deal with it and get over it!

TO Kansas525-outrageous statements? watched the ISU-OSU game! It sure came down to more than one play!!! ISU outplayed them! Yes, only 2 weeks ago! BCS definitely made the right call sending Bama-LSU to finals! Yes, blame ISU for outplaying them. "know what you are talking about!"

  • kansas525 - 12 years ago

To DM - butts kicked? There was a "missed field goal" that was probably called incorrectly and, for some reason, not reviewed, which lead to a double overtime loss. If you are going to make outrageous statements, at least know what you are talking about.

  • Kansas525 - 12 years ago

All I hear is how great the Alabama defense is. If you play a bunch of mediocre teams, how does anyone know if you have a great defense? They gave up a lot of points to low level teams.

ESPN & BCS are the losers. It is amazing that they have already the spin, the ESPN BCS show is pathetic with the orchestration of their interviews. I guess it will appeal to the SEC, specifically LSU & Bama, but I for one will not watch.

  • RTR - 12 years ago

You can be assured when The Tide gets done with LSU this time, there will be no doubt they should have been there again, and it will show decisively who is the No. 1 team in the nation. Wait for it!

  • SEC - 12 years ago

Alabama is the best choice and clearly a better team than osu and the best 2 teams should play

  • Ron - 12 years ago

If it's Bama against LSU I won't watch the game. Plain & simple. I hope the advertisers hear that and that others join me and boycott the game.

  • DM - 12 years ago

How does a team get kicked by Iowa State, (get the butts kicked) and think they should contend for a National Title game? OSU fans have a very very short memory! Wasn't it a few weeks ago? Why not vote for Iowa State! Yes, Bama is much better!

The dumb a$$es out there that don't have facts need to stop posting stuff on here. Alabama and ok st played the SAME amount of games. The big 12 doesn't have a championship game. There goes half of their reasoning behind y they feel they deserve a shot .. pay attention bc u surely havnt been watching the games if u don't even know how many games your team has played.

where is the justice in Bama having to wait on LSU to play for the N.C. I mean they dont have to play the extra game. OK ST. did and they won. That being said, OK ST. should be ranked higher for playing the extra game alone. AND, Bama lost at HOME to LSU and it wasnt the kickers fault they 2 misses were out of range. When they did get close enough the line colapsed and they got blocked. If thats not proof enough nothing is because when it went into O.T. they had the first shot to score and again could not get close enough to score and once again LSU did. So there you have it Bama fans. You were not good enough to beat LSU at home, you were not good enough to make the SEC champ game, and you shouldnt be rancked higher than 3rd after not having to play an extra game. Therefore Bama is out of it and OK ST is in.

In addition to all the good arguments, there is another. There are numerous sports fans, coaches who want a playoff. Whether we split all the teams up by conerence or not, the best teams in both conferences would have had to play the best of th other conferences. Then we would all know. Alabama was not the best in the SEC. Why should the SEC get a do-over? The SEC fans have been pushing the SEC national title game for obvious reasons, even before the rest of the games play out. The eye test should not nor can be accurate. That's why we play the games. OSU vs LSU is the most reasonable. If the computers pick OSU vs LSU, thats how it should play out. If we include emotions, dont you think OSU's tragedy could have played apart on the Iowa State loss. Besides the field goal looked good to me. It should be based on evidence not eye test. There have been numerous examples of underdogs or teams that shouldnt have won, but did. How about the US vs USSR hockey team, or OU vs Tech. The eye test is often inaccurate due to bias.

Every bama fan is blaming the loss to the kicker. Bama didnt get close enough to even make those 2 missed field goals. And when they did the D line colaplsed and they got blocked. So blaming the kicker on a out of range missed field goal is denial of what really happened. They need to blame the D line. Thats what lossed the game. So get over it LSU beat them fair and square on thier own turf, so stop the crying. Also they didnt win thier divission even if it isnt required. Also they played one less game than OK ST. so by playing the extra game they should automaticlly be ranked higher than Bama. Face it Bama fans, you lossed at home. You missed the dance. OK won thier devision and played an extra game, they deserve to be ranked higher and the title shot.

Someone brought up the basketball tournament, Yes are right the the chapion has not been a conference champion. Unlike football, basketball has a playoff system and the national champion earned there way into a championship game!

  • Truth matters - 12 years ago

I say it should be LSU and Bama. All these other teams had a chance. The national voters have pushed for Oklahom, they lost, they moved on to Oregon, they losy, then it was Oklahoma State, they lost, They even Mentioned Virgia Tech and Houston, guess what, they lost too. Everyone know LSU and Bama are the two best teams, let them play. We had 2 remathes yesterday and it happens all the time in basketball and the NFL. Suck it up, these are two dominant teams that deserve to play.

The SEC fans will want a rematch - big surprise. Big 12 fans will want OSU to get a shot - which I think is reasonable. I have no horse in this race but cannot see how two teams from same Division and Conference playing each other AGAIN is interesting or can be called a "National Championship." Call it an SEC Championship if you want ... but outside of the SEC nobody else cares. If the rematch is played it will be the most controversial, least watched and probably most boring NCG in the B(c)S's history ... which with any luck will get us closer to a College FB playoff system that is fair to all.

  • Jeanius Beats - 12 years ago

It think it would be fare to give OSU a shot at LSU, rather than Alabama...OSU has beaten more top 25 ranked teams than Alabama did, and they're a strong enough team to play against LSU, offensively and defensively.

  • commonsense - 12 years ago

The sec was 1 2 3 in bcs that speaks highly of the conference if ok st had went undefeated than so be it let them play but they didn't they lost to an unranked iowa st team. Enough said. Bamas lost was to #1 team in ot in a game that many people agree bama should have won. How many times has ncaa basketball champion not won their conference. Huh. Plenty. Do you not think they ever played a team in tournament that beat them in regular season. If bama makes it to bcs, which they should, and beats lsu, then they are champs. All the haters can hate. Sec will win yet another regardless if bama makes it in bc ok st can't stop anyone and won't be able to score on either bama or lsu more than twice. SEC....then all the rest

  • CTYankee - 12 years ago

LSU already beat Bama so even if Bama should win a rematch how can one say they're the national champs? OSU earned and deserves a shot at LSU.

  • JvK - 12 years ago

5 reasons why I feel OSU deserves to play LSU in the National Championship Game.

OSU won 5 games against Top 25 teams
UA won 2 games aginst Top 25 teams.

OSU's 1 loss was on the road.
UA's 1 loss was at home.

OSU won their Conference Championship Game against a #10 team by a score of 44-10.
UA didn't qualify for their Conference Championship Game.

OSU played 1 more game than UA extending their win-loss record to 12-1
UA played 1 less game than OSU making their record 11-1

That having been said, and since the most important thing to all SEC fans is that an SEC team win the National Championship Game, having LSU play UA would guarantee an SEC National Championship Title.

From my grandsons midget league to the pros and every level in between football the champion is decided by a playoff except this level. I wouldn't mind a rematch if they had eliminated other teams. Until you take peoples opinions out of the mix and let teams decide it on the field I'm not that interested.

  • DPG - 12 years ago

So if Alabama gets its rematch with Louisana State University and wins, how does that make them national champs? Both teams would have one loss and each would have a win over the other. Give Oklahoma State the shot.

  • DPG - 12 years ago

And Bama homer has arrived. Shut up.

  • Tim Harris - 12 years ago

    Stop it please!

    The arguments against Bama:

They didn't win their conference - NOT REQUIRED! Discussed and NOT adopted. But hey let's change the rules in the middle of the game...

Oklahoma State beat 5 ranked teams and Bama only beat 2 - Really? How will this look after the games yesterday? Texas won't be ranked. OU might but shouldn't be(They are banged up and not very good right now). Missouri, Please...

It was boring - That's a good criteria. Let's have the two most "exciting" teams play! When we get bored with all the scoring, we can have them play dressed as clowns. That should be entertaining!
