Im a Ravens fan and we never BAC blackout problems! With that said, it is a dumb rule and not fair to people who live in cities that do have this problem!

The blackout rule is antiquated and should be abolished. I can see it's usefulness years ago, but not now. All you are hurting with the blackout is the teams local fans and the local network affiliate. For one thing, how is it fair to those teams that have taken the initiative and built bigger seating capacity stadiums? It's not. When Kansas City has to sell 78,000 tickets to avoid a blackout and St. Louis has to sell 58,000, how can that be fair? What happens is that the local TV network ends up buying them. If anything, at least make the blackout number uniform to all teams. Set it at 50,000 for everyone, so that it is equal and a fair goal to reach.

i dont believe any games should have ever been blacked out because some people cant afford to go to the games the way prices have been driven upwards due to owners overpaying for stadiums they didnt really need and no city or viewing area should be deprived of the ability to see there teams play but i also dont agree with a home city or viewing area not allowing any other games to be shown while the local team is on because maybe some people just arnt fans of that team or maybe there is a game with some real meaning on that they would rather see. i live in clewarwater fl. and believe that all the bucs fans should be zable to see there team play but im a cowboys fan and not in any way a bucs fan so dont stick me with just the bucs game on give the varity back to the fans as well as nfl network ,you should be showing thoes games to the fan public and not making people pay for your station to see them so settle this crap with the cable companys and regular tv

I live 525 miles from Denver and 545 miles from Dallas and both games are blacked out on the NFL Ticket for which I have paid. I get to watch Denver on the network channel which is fine unless it is the second game, then I miss half of the first quarter or if the first game goes ino overtime all of the first quarter. Something needs to change.

The struggling teams should reduce the cost of the tickets so the games sell out. I would love to attend games but at $65 the cheapest seats, I could not afford to take my family.

Hey congress, instead of targeting the NFL over 1 issue that effects 3-5 cities a week.... use your time and tax money to FIX THE ECONOMY. This is a political ploy to divert attention from the real problems and win public favor.
Debt 101 says pay off big bills and highest interest first. Same principles here, fix economy before worrying about 3-5 cities watching the NFL 8 Sundays a year!

How many elderly, disabled, poor, unemployed, even military veterans coming home from battle with injuries can't either afford or physically attend NFL games?

The NFL is shameless....even during these horrible economic times, when so many Americans do not have a job and can't afford to go to the games, they black out games to so many fans who need something to cheer about.

These fat cat owners are mean and cruel and really don't care but sure will wave that American flag when the cameras are rolling.

Patrick you're an idiot the cardinals have sold out every game since they opened the new stadium therefore they haven't been blacked out in 5 years so how would it be any different than it is now

  • rutgers - 12 years ago

What fan would not want this eliminated?

    stupid poll

  • Patrick - 12 years ago

Please don't end the blackout rule, I don't want to have to watch anymore Cardinal games than I have to.
