Not a major problem thank goodness but I have found several of the "creatures" around my windows in Putnam County. More of a problem with "ladybugs" which have infested my residence in large numbers.

I am afraid to think what might be next!

I don't have a huge number, but do find them in the house occasionally. I started to notice they were often in the mailbox and newspaper box, coming up from the lawn, I assume. I shake out the mail and paper before I bring them in, but even then, I'll sometimes see one emerging from the folds of the paper and between pieces of mail.

I was told the easiest way to dispose of them is to flush them. So far, that works for me.

We bought our house in Beacon six years ago and quickly noticed the stink bugs. At first I tried to control them but it was futile. In the winter I take the vacuum up to the attic and try to get them while they sleep. When they are out and about I collect them in a jar of alcohol because I was told it is the quickest way to kill them without the stink. My cats hunt them but won't go near them - stink bugs are a part of our life and another sign of spring!
