I can't believe these close minded people are complaining about Ellen being gay and representing J C Penny.
What they should be concerned about is that Carl's Jr commercial with the model eating the hamburger with very suggestive sexual overtones.
Complaining about a beautiful funny woman doing commercials because she is gay redicilious .I'm sure there is more gay people out there doing lots of commercials they don't know about so they are just out for Ellen because she is out and open about her life...her life is no one elses concern.
Congrats to J.C. Penny for now listening to those who do not think we are all equal, we are all just people.

Who are these Million Moms, they should be ashamed of themselves! I'll bet they are not as kind or generous as Ellen. Shame, shame, on all of you mothers, and yes, I too am a mother. I cannot believe the nasty side to each and every one of you who signed on to take down Ellen. What goes around, comes around, good luck Mommy Dearest. One question, why did not one of you appear on Bill O'Reilly when asked, ashamed of yourselves perhaps? The country is disgusted by all of you, and you should hide. Three cheers to J.C. Penny!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO JCP FOR UPDATING THEIR ADS, FOR BEING OPEN TO CHANGE, FOR THEIR INCLUSIVENESS. I AM 76 YEARS OLD AND WILL SHOP AT JCP BECAUSE I HEARTILY APPROVE OF HAVING ELLEN AS THEIR SPOKESPERSON.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE ROUNDING OUT YOUR PRICES. IT IS INSULTING TO MY INTELLIGENCE TO THINK THAT RETAILERS DO NOT REALIZE THAT I KNOW THAT $19.99 REALLY MEANS $20.00! AND THANK YOU, JCP, FOR NOT STUFFING MY MAIL BOX WITH JUNK ADS.

At Sci: while LA and The LA Times may not be representative of "middle Anerican values" that is the beauty of the Internet: you can live anywhere (like I do, in Missouri... the epitome of a red state with very middle American values) to participate in this survey.

I am more inclined to go shopping just to piss OMM off. They have offended my traditional family. I teach unconditional love, not hatred!

Really, the fact that JC Penny hired Ellen makes this 56 year old stop in tommorrow and make a purchase. I have been married to my guy for 34 years, and we both believe that love deserves to be relished, enjoyed, and envied with whomever it happens, and shame, shame to anyone who would try to disqualify it, or deny it. They obviously do not know the meaning of the word. I will pray for them because they are obviously missing something in thier lives that they feel they have to try and take something from the lives of others who have found love and happiness.

one has to look at the population makeup of LA - hardly middle American values....

I feel sorry for these close-minded people. I will definetly shop MORE at j.c. penny because of them. I'm 59 yrs. old, & I don't understand these kind of people who throw all these negative things around. They have nothing better to do??? sad. Open your minds & your hearts, people and quit being so closed-minded & anal!

Good for JCP for 'doing it right' - good for them for representing families of all makeups, not every family is a mom a dad and 2.5 kids. I hope they don't bow to the pressure from the conservative nut jobs.

If half of these groups that spend all this time money and energy on hate mongering refocused their energies on feeding starving families or helping others, this world would be such a better place!

We just got a new JCP Mailer the other day - they've really updated their graphics, layouts and are finally getting with the times. I've long dismissed JCP as a place to shop, but looks like they're re branding their image! Good for them!

I am more inclined to shop at JC Penney because they have Ellen as their spokesperson. It makes Penneys seem cooler and more with it-- and less dowdy, old-fashioned, stodgy, or conservative.
