Is this really what people think is gunna stop obesity? Whats next? An age limit to candy? Haha this is really pointless, like i dont see what the reason is for this? So kids wont beable to buy pop without there parents knowing? Because if they arnt spending it on pop there gunna spend it on candy or chips or other unhealthy foods, your going to have to put an age limit on all that if you really want to change anything, even still, you can get fat off any normal food, with the amount you consume. We cant control how much you consume, so really, this is just pointless.

If people aren't willing to properly teach basic food and health benefits then maybe a strict control is needed to make people think about their diet choice. It's not that sugar is making people fat, though it is one factor. It is a leading contributor to major health issues that can be avoided, such as diabetes. But no one is willing to say anything because the drug industry is making fortunes on people's inability to make the healthy choice. Money is one of the biggest reasons people choose sugar or artificially sweetened products. If the food industry is subject to taxation on addatives such as added sugar maybe industries will rethink the crap they put into our food. With the proposed taxes, they should be used to promote and subsidize farmers markets in communities. This would promote sustainable farming practices and bring the community back to the farmer.

This is so redicilous: Next, we will be having someone bootlegging pop to the kids or getting someone to buy it for them, Let's spend our money getting rid of drug dealer and child abusers We have 18 grandchildre and none are over weight and part of that is because the parents are very concerned with what they eat and they are taught, what is the best food for them. Maybe, we should be spending time and money on teaching families these life skills!! Sincerely D, McInnis!!!
