Some people wouldn't feel safe wrapped in a blanket.

Just take a look at the tracks down at the Poughkeepsie train station. Many of the spikes holding down the tracks are missing; many are only partially pounded down. What used to be a nice ride to NYC and beyond (using Amtrak) has become a ride quite like 'Mr. Toad's Wild Ride' at the carnival. A CSX worker once told me that due to cut backs, there were not enough people to repair the tracks. I have no idea if this is true, but it appears evident to me that these kind of repairs need to be made frequently.
