When training to ride the 2012 24 Hours of Adrenalin as a solo competitor, a recreational cyclist should:
Train like your life depends on it, starting at 6 a.m. on January 1. Base miles, intervals, hill repeats, night rides....these MUST be in your vocabulary.
Go semi-regularly to spin class through the winter, ride lots of road miles through the spring, complete a Gran Fondo or two, and then ride your mtn. bike twice before the big event. Like last year!
Eat, drink and be merry for the first fifty one days of the year. Start training in a meaningful way and losing weight on February 21st. This is obviously the right date.
