We high tailed out in 2013 to Florida from Stony Point. Taxes in Stony Point thou we didn't own the house the property taxes were outrageous and we could not afford to buy anywhere in the Hudson Valley after trying several times on properties all the way up into Sullivan County. Taxes here on the property in Florida is less than $600 a year thanks to Homestead Rebate program, otherwise they would be around $1,200 a year. They all say the heat and humidity is too much to deal with but it's like anything else you get used to it.
