Let's have one year where all home owners in New York pay zero land taxes. We can call it the "growth year". Everyone would then have an extra large sum of money to reduce debt, invest, vacation. I can only imagine the magical wonders that would happen.

Our taxes will continue to go up because we have little industry and jobs here. It is a noble thing to say we should support education , but is pouring more and more money into our education system the answer? School associated personnel may say yes, but I am skeptical. You cannot solve all problems just by throwing money at it.

You simply cannot pay enough when it comes to education. Open your pockets and feed the education mill people! We need to produce children of industry to bring America back to her knees!

The price of your property, without the squirrels, is nominal. The price of the phrase' "think about the children" is pricelessly. So many taxes for the teachers and yet the teachers is too high paid. Students is dumb in all likelihood because of laziness and tv watching. Spare the rib spoil the children.

Unless an obvious error in your assessment it is a waste of time to contest it. The best way to fight your insanely high NYS taxes is to move out of NYS. We have school districts like Arlington with layers upon layers of administrators and funding for every program known to mankind - spending nearly $20,000 per pupil, per year. http://febp.newamerica.net/k12/NY/3603270

It's a joke, people and the joke is on you.

Go ahead and contest your assessment all you want, it's a silly game they let you play to make you feel like you have a voice in this -- trust me you don't and you are simply viewed as a captive revenue base for the insatiable appetite of school districts and big government spending in NY.

The levy is always too high. Playing roulette with home values to try and prop up unsustainable taxes.
