Most companies pay per diem and other reimbursements to employees for legitimate expenses directly related to the work being performed. The problem here is that the vast majority of these politicians have a failing grade in terms of work product, and these expenses do not seem to be required but rather for their own personal convenience. Based on this alone they should not be receiving these payments.

They know the salary when they run. If they don,t like it, don,t run. Claim costs on income taxes like normal people.

No, When they run for office they know exactly what they are getting into. Their salary more than covers the "per diem'. If allowed, let them claim the costs on their income taxes.

only for special sessions and then it should be the same travel allowance any of us get per IRS law
