I "don't know anything" says the Learned Professor. Here's just one old article out of many on this topic, which has been at the forefront of the conversation within college and university admission professionals for the last several years. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/28/sat-act-not-required-colleges_n_2206391.html

Brad you don't know anything! As a college professor and being close colleagues with the university professors. These tests do in fact weigh heavily on their applications (personally I do not agree with) as well as other factors. So I wholeheartedly support the efforts made by these students who are looking out for their future and the future of thousands of other students

Most colleges don't even require standardized testing any more, and if they do it is weighted far lower than other factors on the application. Colleges are looking at the student's body of work, their overall character and the indicators of how likely the prospective student will be successful. Sorry, but this "controversy" is a waste of energy.
