@Islander: The Governor was paying the tax refunds way BEFORE the court ordered it.

I'm not pointing any fingers in anyone but I mean what's the purpose of trying to file early if were just going to get our refunds the same time as the ones filed later than the early dates? Just saying, it would be a blessing to recieve our refunds before my 4 kids go back to school thr fact that my husband had just been let go from his job and i too myself is unemployed at the moment.
It would really be a big help :)

Why not thank the Governor? Isn't he paying the refunds before the court ordered date? I'm sure he would pay it even if there isn't a court ordered date. I've lived on Guam for over 45 years now and I must say Calvo has to be the best yet.

Why are people thanking the Governor ? Thank the people who sued the Governor , thank the judge who forced Gov Guam into paying all tax refunds within 6 months , don't thank the Governor , thank the loan Gov Guam had taken out to pay for the tax returns .
Now Guam is at its limit in borrowing cash so we will see how next year pans out . With the new inflated payroll from all the pay raise's and retro , the new schools and charter schools that need funding , and the cost of everyday operations plus the payments made for the massive loan GG took out , I fear our Government will have trouble financially in near future , I would bet my money on it. governor Calvo will be out of office when the doodoo hits the fan .

I believe that we will all get out tax refunds before the deadline. Governor Calvo has proven time and time again that tax refunds will be paid out. And they have been keeping their promise to the people of Guam! BIBA Tax Refunds!

Tessy I think the deadline is 6 mths after the last date to file which was April 17th if I'm not mistaken. So according to the ruling everyone who's filed for a refund (without errors) should have received or be receiving by October 17th. Since they've only released up to February 12th thus far I doubt we'd all be paid out by that deadline.

Malafunkshun got it right when he said ti politics na "poli-tricks" !!
Who will be our next candidate for Governor?

  • Tessy - 9 years ago

February 16, 2015 was when we filed our taxes. August 16, 2015 will be the six-month mark. We will continue to pray and be patient about it. (Philippians 4:11-13)
