    No, Guam is proposing to overcharge medical marijuana users for docto's certification. In California, the certification is $60 but they give Veterans and Senior citizens discounts. Don't understand why they are proposing a $150 fee!! Even the purchase of medical Marijuana in Cali. Is not $500 an ounce. Government is just trying to make revenue from the sick people!! This is the whole reason people are doing it illegally!!
    Start Mirroring California and stop killing the people of Guam!! Also put all your hard work into getting the people's tax money back. We Manumko and Veterans depend on this return to purchase marijuana for our pains. I currently am a cancer patient and need MJ for my pains and not depend on the Morphine the doctors are giving me now!!

    Islander 2, Sir how much can you smoke in one day? Those that can afford, will probably pay and sell to their friends at higher prices and who's going to crack down on the Guam Government making all that extra cash? I will help you out, only close your eyes, when I do that I see nothing and no one. What needs to be addressed is that all who are in Guam Government are already raking in the cash hand over fist off the backs of those who really NEED many things. When you let guys like me in Government all I say is "Where is my extra money and whose empty pockets can I steal from to fill my full pockets?" My advisors told me that my Guam Government buddies and I will make $90 million in the first year. How will that happen at $500 an ounce? I think the law make this affordable for those in office and that work for the Government to do it while they are on the JOB and remember my health care that you pay for gives me funds to buy all I want!

    People, let's talk real....

    1. People smoke weed. There is no doubt there is a lot of folks who smoke weed on the islands. It’s a natural mystic that’s has been going on as long as anyone can remember. Stop fighting it and embrace it.

    2. GovGuam needs to be slapped for getting greedy once again. It is unbelievable how our government makes decisions. They are the ones who are supposed to have gained their knowledge through higher learning and yet they make the most ridiculous decisions without fail. It is embarrassing and truly disappointing. Make the price affordable. One would receive more $$ in mass numbers than in fewer numbers.

    3. Allow people to grow 3/4 plants for private consumption. This is plenty for one person. Just need to train people how to grow so they do not run out. Also what I think is, people are forgetting about oils. Weed/hash oils play a huge part in fighting cancer. People need to know how to prepare weed/hash oils as another way to fight the deadly disease.

    4. Decriminalize the drug.

    5. Laws should mirror SOME of the laws set on Alcohol....like No smoking and driving, must be 21yrs to smoke, can only carry 2/3 grams...etc..

    6. Get with the program! The world is changing! Open your eyes GovGuam! If you really want to make a positive difference stop all the red tape and embrace the change!!

    I will leave you with this.....GovGuam.....make smarter decisions for your people. The biggest issue on this island is trust. Gain the trust by making smarter decisions that makes SENSE in today's society and you will gain back your people of the future.

    Peace,

    Totally agree with Islander as well. This policy is ridiculous!
    1) "Grow your own" should be included;
    2) Lower the per ounce (dalai);
    3) Add menopausal too! Have you seen the craziness women go thru?;
    4) Should've looked at at least 2 other states to get a more comfortable view of good policy, Colorado's been raking in MILLIONS and not too expensive either!

    Islander is correct. This is a money grab by the government. The law is overly complicated and burdensome to all parties. Enforcement is set up to fail. Grow your own should be part of any reform. Decriminalization makes sense.

    This marijuana law is bad and only caters to the rich , $500 for an ounce ? That will last maybe a week ? If your a cancer patient how are you going afford it ? "Compassionate" really ? It's an excuse to rake in cash from those that are in most need of money . Amend the law to allow patients to grow a maximum of 6 plants at home to help lower the cost of treatment , that's being "compassionate" ! Regardless what the law says there are many of us determined to grow this on CLTC property give to those in need for free . "Free" = " compassionate" .
    My father and my step father have both passed away from cancer , medical cost was extremely high and affected our family a great deal , I do not wish for others to go through the same . Senator Muna is not compassionate and she has lost my families vote .
