Please deal with the issues with the buses. The bus riders at Okkodo High school on the first day, got picked up 40 minutes after the end of school. Even now the buses are still coming late. Why was the time of the school changed anyway?

I am so sorry to read the above comment from Mr. James Cruz. Wettengel Elementary School (WES) was just the opposite. I give a lot of kudos to Mrs. Iglesias, aka Mrs. I, Principal, and all of the teachers and staff members/helpers of the school. It is the best school my grandson has ever attended on island. The cafeteria and how the kids are placed into groups by class before going into their designated classrooms are very well organized. The teachers and staff are out there manning the whole scenario. Even after 1st day of school, everyone is out there assisting this very huge attendance. I spoke with the Principal this morning and told her that her school is very well organized. I didn't see any of the kids running around loose before classroom time. She told me that no one is sweating before classroom time. The students are all seated on the clean and newly painted pavement in an orderly fashion according to their classroom number. There was a gentleman there leading the students to its designated area by classroom number. If the student couldn't find his/her area, the helper/teacher will call out the classroom number and ask the students to raise their hands. Then the student finds his/her way to the designated line of students. No one got lost or misplaced. It is the best school system I have ever observed. On Orientation Day, Mrs. I was so organized and informative, and she had handouts for you to take home. Most of all, the staff, teachers and Mrs. I were very kind and helpful. I am hoping that all the schools on this island can learn from how Mrs. I runs this big school. I appreciate you WES.

First off, the orientation day at my son's school last Friday was quick and a waste of my time. Visual equipment were set up but not utilized, and no informational handouts were given out to the parents in attendance. Sad to say, but the orientation day for Summer School at P.C. Lujan Elementary School was more informative than that, for crying out loud. On the opening day, student lists were posted outside my son's school cafeteria, but was not categorized by grades, just a list of the student's names and numbers, which left me and other parents wondering what they meant. At the end of the first day of school, more than a dozen students were placed on the wrong bus by a school aid. It took 50 minutes, from the time the school was out at 2:28 p.m. until the bus finally dropped my son at the bus station, for me to reunite with my son, because no one at his school took the time to make sure that the kids got on the right bus, let alone make it an eventful day without incident. I wonder how many more kids were placed on the wrong bus that day. I knew a day in advance that someone was going to mess up on the first day of school, and sure enough, someone did. By the way, my son goes to J.Q. San Miguel Elementary School.
