I see there are no yes comments here only no comments. Why don't you list your name, address contact number and email address and explain why you believe the Airport and the Government of Guam should continue paying a criminal who has failed to pay his taxes for almost two decades, gets charged only for failure to pay three years and only goes to jail for one! He gets to keep the millions of dollars, continue to make money and only go to ClubFed for one year!l

Another thing, The Airport management team is a joke, these managers Ada, Arriola, Bautista, board members, Alcorn should have relieved Santos of his duties, cut all ties with him. He is a tax criminal, plain and simple. The Airport management and board of directors should be investigated as well, they must be stupid for allowing this man to continue working for the airport. STOP awarding him and his son contracts, this is all fixed. Shame on you Airport officials.

  • Buenas - 9 years ago

No, No, the Airport should not be paying him any more monies. We should also take the airport to trial, they all should go with him. How stupid are you people for voting yes. He knowingly failed to file taxes, kept all the money, enjoyed a life of luxury, goes off-island trips paid by the airport and now he is only going to spend one year, time goes by fast, before you know it, he will be out and his millions will be waiting for him, not fair at all.

The yes votes are the bots, same like in any calvo/rodriguez cult poll, same bots , same fake results.

Are you kidding me? This low life of a chamorro should be behind bars already. And you senators that are throwing in your pennies in support of this monkey should hold his hand and follow him straight into his new home. Shame on you stealing money when most of the island people are struggling.

Yes? Seriously? Who are these people voting YES?...Duh! we paid taxes like everyone else. THERE'S ONLY TWO THINGS THAT MATTER MOST IN AMERICA. DEATH & TAXES. This guy should GO TO JAIL. Hope the judge know how to punish him.

This is why Guam will continue going in the direction it is going; down the drain. The working class and the children suffer while under the table dealings and tax evaders continue to increase their wealth and be glorified for ill-gotten wealth. Children's education, the standard of living, and public schools are compromised because of "pare-pare" closed door dealings and tax evaders. Guam is like a corrupt, third world country flying an American flag.

Like everyone else who has committed a crime "you do the CRIME you pay the TIME" what makes you different.

I remember MANY years ago when Jeff Evans was charged with the very same crime and did not do it for as long as Mr. Santos did. JEFF EVANS WENT TO PRISON in Las Vegas!...No one is above the law and I hope that Judge Manibusan remembers the Jeff Evans case and sees to it some kind of consistency and prudence in administering judgement on Mr. Santos. As a commentator, I am not intimate with this case so therefore it is EASY to say send him to prison, however, I trust Judge Manibusan enough to give the appropriate sentence in this case as he has done in other cases.

Who in the world is voting yes in this poll ? What are they thinking ? This guy is so corrupt he has his fellow corrupted friends trying to get him out of jail ! Gov Guam to let the GIAA continue to fo business with this guy is insane and reveals the true problem in our government , greed , corruption and they seem to all be in it together. Hey Gov Guam do I have to pay my taxes ? What happens if I continuously refuse to pay my taxes for 10 years ? Will you vouch for me ? Will you keep me out of jail ! This news is upsetting and I hope this guy goes to jail for awhile , he deserves every year he gets . Judge ! Do the right thing and lock him up ! Thanx Gov Guam .....

I second everyone's commens on this guy not paying his share of taxes all these years! You DO the crime, YOU DO the time! Enough said!!

The answer is "NO".... Mr. Santos knowingly and willfully committed a crime and should be punished accordingly by the laws governing the citizens of GUAM. Mr. Santos is an educated individual with good business mannerisms who "KNOWINGLY" let his greed for money get in the way of sound judgment and prudence on his part.

Mr. Santos was tempted with the amount of money he was receiving as a consultant for the airport and as any individual with low integrity would do. He opted to break the law governing taxation on income and
join the small minority of law breakers to defraud the Government of Guam as a way to increase his personal wealth and stature. Normal citizens of Guam without the personal clout that Mr. Santos has would have been prosecuted and sentenced already by a jury of their peers without any personal petitions from any Lawmaker or Civic Leader in the community.

Further more, I'm ashamed that our local lawmakers and civic leaders would continue to endorse Mr. Santos and petition the courts for a light sentence especially after what he committed. It goes to show that money can buy you friends in high places..... Civic leaders of Guam, bring back the "INTEGRITY & RESPECT " in government and let the law of the land prevail for those accused..... Don't do the "Crime if you can't do the time!!!!

Lock him up. Joe public making $12K a year would go to jail for the same exact thing. Shame the senators that spoke up for this thief. His attorney stated that it would cost the government to keep him incarcerated so just let him pay whats owed and continue to work? I say incarcerate him until the $4 million dollars he owes is paid off, maybe.....100 years? wont cost the government anything. I think this dude has some stink on higher ups and he will talk if he gets sent to prison. what say you?

This is exactly why Guam is the way it is. This man is in the financial industry and WILLFULLY...key word...WILLFULLY dodged paying taxes. Of all people he should know simple tax laws and procedure. So to trust this man as a financial consultant especially as a government entity is downright a slap in the face to the people of Guam. It's as if you are telling us " we don't need to follow laws but you do." And of course Chuck Ada was not available for comment. When are any of you people available for comment? Be a true leader and face the people. This does not just go for Chuck Ada this goes for all those is key governmental positions who owe the people an explanation for every decision they make. If that's not what you want, go to the private sector.

The guy is a felon, the company should be barred from working with GovGuam and contract should be null and void. No wonder white collar crime continues on Guam. Go to jail and still get paid while the island children and families suffer.

  • Byerly - 9 years ago

Lock him up. White collar crime is the worst. No respect for what everybody else stands in line for
