Who needs a dog pooping and peeing in a public restaurant area?

I think it is up to the restaurant owner. If outside and you have a well behaved dog bring them. About salt pepper shakers ketchup ect. People go in and use a bathroom and do not wash there hands... I find a lot of people extremely obnoxious to sit next to, they talk very loud they use foul language and or on their phone. So there is my perspective on the subject.

I agree with Edward.... Ive experienced it with spoiled brats eating at the same place I am and their parents not doing anything about it....

This ruling is a rediculus waste of our Governor's time. Doesn't he have much more pressing state issues? Anyone who would rather eat next to a dog rather than a small child needs to really examine their mind and heart. Not to mention all the associated sanitary issues. I would think the Board of Health would have an issue with all of this.

I'm a dog owner, and my dog is small and well-behaved, but I wouldn't bring him to a dining establishment. Some people may be allergic; for dogs that shed, hair gets everywhere...it's unsanitary; and yes, dogs lick themselves and I don't want to look at that while I'm eating. You can go a hour or two without being with your dog in order to have a nice meal. However, if a restaurant chooses to allow dogs, that's their choice. I will just choose not to eat there...that's my choice.

I live in a neighborhood that is common to bring your pups out, and is frowned upon if you don't have drinking bowls or other accommodations for the dogs. There are even dog parks that have table service for food and alcoholic beverages. If a restaurant owner chooses to create a friendly and relaxing atmosphere, then uptight and stuffy patrons that are canine phobic can take their business elsewhere.
I agree with Dan the Human, I don't know why this is even a question, but from the opposite side of the spectrum.

I love my dog and he is very well behaved. However I would never bring him to an outdoor restaurant nor do I want other dogs near me while I'm eating. I don't even know why this is a question.

There are more well-behaved dogs than children. I'd much rather dine next to someone with a dog than someone with children.

Decades ago it was common in some Manhattan restaurants for small dogs to be at a table with their owners. If restaurants allow sneezing, screaming, crying children then to bar well-behaved dogs is blatant discrimination. And worried about germs? I do when sitting at a table around patrons coughing and sneezing theirs into the air.

Dogs lick themselves, dogs lick their owners hand, owners touch salt and pepper shakers and ketchup bottles, this patron leaves restaurant. Want to dine with your pet, stay home.
