The Common Core is a travesty. It caters to mindless memorization. When, and if, students reach college, all they can do is ask--"But what's the right answer?"

No , the way the test and goals are now is flawed while the intent is sound. It needs a major revamping and restructuring of students and teachers are going to be held accountable for it. Students have unnecessary anxiety and are taught only what is needed to prepare for the test leaving the teacher little wiggle room for their expertise and creativity in the classroom. Are we producing a drone student or another Einstein? Will the future Steve Jobs be a product of the common core or will we be developing a society of great test takers and book worms? Our country is contingent on the dreams and expertise of brilliance. The common core today will negate that. Prepare it properly and prepare our students for the future through the guidance of teachers and staff.
