My old pal Mel Torme wrote about, "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire," and NOT, "I got an island in the Pacific and everything about it is terrific...".
Go ahead, move to someplace like Arizona where you'll find yourself putting tinsel on elephant-ear cactus and Taco sauce on your pepperoni pizza; see if you don't fill your car with gas and point it EAST...! I know I did! BUT-the real clincher for me was when I stopped in a restaurant in Apache Junction, Arizona and asked a waitress where I could get some bagels and lox and she showed me, 'where the hardware store was'!!!
Once a Hudson Valley kid, ALWAYS a Hudson Valley kid!
