None will be elected except for BJ Cruz and the A.G. Period. Clear out all the career politicians and make way for a couple people to feel their way to the top!

I am keeping track on all elected officials who are not for the people but for themselves--I realized Calvo is wearing a "Rose color glass" he does not see the government being in the negative. The hospital requiring medicine, supplies, employees receiving net pay instead of gross pay etc. Since I am a senior citizen, I am worry what will happen to me if I am admitted. I blame Calvo for the mess sine he is in upper management. Calvo put you shoes on the lower people--what if your parents is omitted knowing the hospital is not in standard.
Health and safety. All he mention was the past--who cares, we must think of today. Kudos on the senators who is thinking of the people for the people.

What if the Governor just rescinded the entire Competitive Wage Act to save 30 plus million vs this political grandstanding Bill from San Nicholas, Respicio, Won Pat, BJ Cruz that really only saves 1.5 million. All this BS for 1.5 million . Lets go after 30 million, which DOE is the bulk off . Will give schools a raise based on performance . If a school performs at a high standard they will be rewarded with a budget increase. Fair is fair. The superintendant is making more than the Governor , but the dam scores of students are failing. Maybe the board should look into this . Don't ask for more money for schools if it can't perform.

When you enter the public service sector " Gov Guam" you are expected to serve the public and not yourself , when you run for election to be a Mayor , Senator , AG , Lt.Gov , Gov etc.. You are asking the people to elect you to work for the people and not for your own benefit.
Any Elected official trying to justify their inflated pay raise when Gov Guam is in big financial trouble is just Greedy and extremely selfish.
We the people need to vote out the career corrupt Senators like Tina Muna Barnes , Rory Respicio , Dennis Rodroguez and the idiots like Brant McCreadie ans a few others just like him. Puerto Rico is in a huge financial mess ,the U.S. Is not gong to bail them out of it . Guam is headed for the same kind of mess if this is not resolved . Gov Guam Bakruptcy is just around the corner , overpaid idiots running amok !
    Thank you Gov Guam !

The moment that San Nicholas, Respicio, Won Pat, BJ Cruz are praying for the Governor to VETO their bill. Why? Because this is all a game Guam and it is not what these two-faced Senators really want to happen. It is all for grand standing and headline news. Governor please please please sign-it . Call their bluff and make them pay with the Mayors families and staff and your entire administration and their families. Sign it Governor.

I deserve to keep my pay raise because I work so hard. Give me a break ! The mayoral stall should be able to keep their salary increase, but the mayors were doing the job prior to the pay raise, so what has changed ? Now they feel that they deserve it more than anyone. No one twisted your arm to run for the office of mayor, so stop the crying and grandstanding. If anyone deserve a pay raise it is the people behind the scenes, the ones that actually do the work.

Nothing will happen. Governor will veto the bill. Tina Barnes will be hiding. Respicio will claim he supports the revoking of the raises. The worst part is that Rodriguez and Morrison, who gave been greedy this whole time will be top vote getters in November because most people don't vote on a candidates track record or issues, instead they vote on who shook my hand. The smarter candidates get shafted and the politicians get elected. Oh and there won't be enough votes to override the veto.

  • Mayors of Guam - 8 years ago

Mayors of Guam and staff have been shafted again by Respicio, San Nicholas, Won-pat, BJ Cruz. There was NO PUBLIC HEARING on this Bill to at least give us a chance to voice our concerns. You added this to our budget and told us many times it was the right thing to do to help our Mayors and Staff. This is really an insult and BIG LIE to leaders in the villages. We know that you Respicio, BJ Cruz, Won Pat, San Nicholas have a personal vendetta towards Governor Calvo the reason why you did this quickly without a Public Hearing. We understand that you made all Mayors and staff a target because of our willingness to work with Governor Calvo. The Mayors of Guam and Staff will continue to work hard despite this unfortunate and blind sided attack on us. I know that Governor Calvo will continue to support us going forward and will NOT make us a TARGET in all of this . People do support the Senatorial pay raise, but are more disappointed that this raise is more wasted when some Senators spend ALL their time creating fights with the Governor instead of working with him. I guess none of you will want to have pocket meetings in our villages after this. I will be surprise if you even ask.

  • Frankie Sanchez - 8 years ago

Respicio, San Nicholas, Won-pat, BJ Cruz must HATE the Mayors and Staff to make them also a target in this pay raise after they gave it to them. Mayors and staff did not ask for this and you gave it to them. How do you guys sleep at night doing this? Give then take. Stop playing with peoples lives. Very unfortunate. Do not forget the silent majority this election.

  • Tina - 8 years ago

Spending 85k on some senators who waist their time fighting the governor. Respicio is the new big joke.

With mounting debts, how could the Administration and the Legislature conscientiously increase their salaries, the AG, and political appointees, then retro their pay to add insult to injury? Time to oust the five Senators that voted to keep their pay raises this coming election despite the public outcry. Better yet, replace them all as they all failed to trim off the fat of GovGu, using funds set aside for tax refunds to pay bloated and inefficient government. Corruption at its worst, gov't no longer serving the people. GovGu agencies gets away with not paying their utilities while residents are disconnected immediately for non payment. The AG has given its opinion that the retro to political appointees were illegal, yet no action to date to prosecute. So disappointing!
